5 Quick Tips For Choosing Orders on Textbroker

5 Quick Tips For Choosing Orders on Textbroker MichellaTextbroker Author Services Rep The Open Order pool can feel overwhelming. There are sometimes thousands of orders for authors to choose from and only so much time in the day. So, how do you use your time at Textbroker more effectively? Here are some tips gathered from experienced authors and our support staff. 1. Start With Topics You Already Know How often have you heard the advice to write what you know? This holds as true for a freelance content writer as it does for a novelist. The more you already know about a topic, the less time you need to spend learning it before you can start writing and the easier it is to research. Textbroker has recently updated the categories in the Open Order pool to make selecting interesting orders easier for authors, so direct your attention to the categories first. Once you are in the category, take a moment to glance through all the available orders to hone in on a topic that you are comfortable writing. If you can’t find an order th at already fits into your realm of experience, look at categories that spark your interest. Even if you must spend more time researching a topic that is completely new to you, the research will go faster if you find the topic appealing. 2. Read the instructions Before You Claim an Order It may be tempting to immediately claim an order based on the expected earnings, but remember that you have 10 minutes to review an order before deciding. Take this time to carefully read and understand all provided instructions. A big part of making sure the order process goes smoothly is reducing the need for revision requests.Pay special attention to: Voice and POV (point of view): Is the client looking for a first-person, friendly and relatable article? Third-person and professional? Be prepared for this as you plan your article. Audience: Writing for 25-35-year-old housewives will be different than writing for professionals active in the subject field.Sources: Clients will often provide you with similar sites, research sources or examples of content they like. This can give you an idea of the tone you should be providing. Do’s and Do Not’s: Pay attention to when a client gives you a â€Å"Don’t do this!† or a â€Å"Make sure you include†¦Ã¢â‚¬ Be sure you also check the deadline or processing time and think about your own schedule. As attractive as an order may be, if you know you don’t have time to devote to an in-depth order, let it go and choose an easier order that you can complete without stressing over a looming deadline. If you have questions on the order, you can reach out to the client before you start writing by clicking the client’s ID: When the client responds, it will appear in your inbox under the â€Å"Messages† tab. Even if the exact order you were considering is no longer available by the time the client responds, this opens a line of communication with the client, and you can be more confident picki ng up another of the client’s orders. 3. Know Your Strengths and Weaknesses Are you an ace at news recaps but not so great with HTML? Taking on a new challenge might be good, but also keep in mind that you have a deadline. Learning a new skill, such as HTML coding, on the fly may add to the stress of writing an order and lead to a negative experience. Author Services encourages all authors to brush up on common HTML requests along with keeping on top of your technical writing skills. However, sometimes orders will have requirements that are a little more complicated than using a header tag or inserting a link. If you are not confident in your ability to quickly learn new tags, you might want to leave the order for someone else, but don’t just forget about it. Instead, add it to your list of things to learn. The next time you see an order requiring the same complicated HTML, you will already have it in the bag! 4. Beat the Deadline Whenever possible, have your content c ompleted and ready to turn in with a large buffer. If you run into a technical issue, such as problems with keywords not being counted or HTML coding errors, you want to have as much time as possible to get the issue fixed. While you are not penalized for the order expiring before you can turn it in, this does result in a loss of income for you and a loss of time for the client. 5. Author Services is Here to Help Go through basic browser troubleshooting steps, such as clearing your cache and cookies. Make sure you have spelled the keywords correctly. Note that, in this context, spelling the keywords correctly might not mean spelling the word correctly. It may go against the grain for a writer to intentionally misspell a word, but the client may want this word misspelled for a reason. You can always contact the client to ask for clarification on this, but if the client either does not get back to you or they indicate that they spelled the word incorrectly on purpose, you will need to use the word exactly as it is presented. You will never be penalized by our editors for this. Ensure that you have met the minimum and maximum keyword density requirement. Our keyword counter may count the keyword inside a URL. If you are coming up on the deadline and you do not have time to wait for Author Services to get back to you, remove URLs containing the keywords, or remove instances of the keyword in the text. When you do this, make sure you contact the client to let them know.We hope that these tips help make your writing experience easier. Free Essays on The Lesson Free Essays on The Lesson The black youth of our society display some of the most entrepreneurial ability in the world. Many while being from disadvantaged backgrounds, go to college, start businesses, support their families, etc. In today’s society, there are ample opportunities for one to succeed and strive for a better life. Toni Cade Bambara’s â€Å"The Lesson,† shows that although opportunity is always available, it rarely is taken advantage of, especially among the under-privileged in a community. The reader after evaluation of the first few paragraphs of this short story becomes aware that the characters are young with immature attitudes and highly constricted outlooks on life. In the opening statements of the story, the speaker refers to â€Å"Back in the days when everyone was old and stupid or young and foolish, me and Sugar were the only ones just right, this lady moved on our block with nappy hair and proper speech and no makeup†¦and quite naturally we laughed at her, the way we did at the junk man†¦.† (628). It is from these statements the reader begins to question why the speaker, who lives in the same neighborhood, believes she is better than those who live in and around the community. The Lady described in the quote was named Miss Moore and she is a teacher (629). The speaker then goes on to describe how much she dislikes Miss Moore, she states, â€Å"and we kinda hated her too†¦ the only woman on the block without a first name. And she wa s black as hell†¦, and she was always planning boring-ass things for us to do† (629). From these words, the reader almost immediately realizes the immaturity level of the speaker, because she has no knowledge of Miss Moore and yet has such negative things to say about her, which in turn not only makes her immature but also very ignorant. A field trip is planned by Miss Moore for the students to a toy store in the upscale rich part of the city (629). This is done to provide the students with th...

Visual Literacy Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Visual Literacy - Essay Example Despite the high level of novelty of newly emerging media like Youtube, which first appeared in 2005, it cannot be denied that its characteristics still follow the pattern of older forms of motion picture technology. Media, indeed was to some extent, merely renewed or reintroduced in familiar forms (Peters as cited in Snelson & Ross, 2009, p. 2). Thus, as the authors assert, online videos found on the Web like those from Youtube, are undeniably part of the ever-changing educational motion picture technologies or in simple terms, Virtual Learning. Virtual learning particularly permeated the education sector mainly through sites and channels such as Youtube â„ ¢ EDU, a central hub for videos featuring the collaboration of leading colleges and universities. Moreover, other sites like SciVee--site containing video and audio for a community of scientists--and Teachertube--designed for K12 students--exist to specially cater academic institutions. In the midst of these arising motion picture technologies in the academe, the authors found it useful to demonstrate how such technologies aid in the learning process of users. Firstly, motion picture technologies provided teachers a ‘dynamic representational format’ that enabled them to bring the world closer to their students. As Thomas Edison (as cited in Snelson & Ross, 2009, p. 4) puts it, it is similar to taking the object before the student or taking the student to the object. Second, it sparks excitement among students in the classroom setting, bridging the gap of abstract ideas to reality (Amsden as cited in Snelson & Ross, 2009, p. 5). Thirdly, since videos have the ability to capture and preserve the past, they become the key archives of significant historical events. Next, as the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (as cited in Snelson & Ross, 2009, p. 6) puts it, film captures what are considered to be too slow or too fast to be caught by the human eye. Fifth, with the

Government Should Regulate Internet Content Essay

Government Should Regulate Internet Content - Essay Example In that same second 372 internet users are typing adult search terms into search engines. Every 39 minutes a new pornographic video is being created in the U.S. (Ropelato). These videos contaminate the thoughts of young children. They gain access to adult material before understanding the gravity of such things. As a result of this, they take extreme steps. In the days when there was no internet, children did not have â€Å"easy access† to porn. They had to purchase adult material from movie shops which not only cost them a lot, but they also were at the risk of being caught by parents, siblings, friends or peers while purchasing such movies. Watching them on the VCR was also no less risky. In those days, it was not possible to shift the TV from one place to another. In every house, there used to be a specific place for TV. Such place usually used to be in the TV lounge where everybody would frequently come, sit and go. Children had had a tough time managing to watch the movie when somebody would get into the room from anywhere anytime. These factors potentially discouraged children from watching porn at home, and many would spare the idea of watching such movies given the enormity of risks associated with this practice. With the evolution of internet, porn is just at a distance of the click on the mouse. Children’s frequent, quick and easy access to porn has retrograded the society on the grounds of morality. Children’s access to porn not only makes them morally weak, but is also very bad for their psychological and physical health. Children become habitual to committing crime in isolation. The negative energies that cultivate in them gradually show up in their daily dealing and interaction with others. In order to regulate the frustration, adolescents tend to build physical relationships with others before marriage. Many do not have access to members of the opposite gender for such relationships, and hence may resort to homosexuality to f ulfill their physical needs. Porn arouses dangerously violent and wild desires in the children even before they become mature enough to handle such feelings. Consequently, many children land themselves in troubles which keep bugging them throughout their life. It is not just porn that is very deleterious to the moral health of the society, internet provides users with access to information that they can use to have a negative influence on the society. There are videos that teach how to make a bomb. Having seen these videos, an individual can make a bomb at home with the materials locally available with least expenses. As a result of this, they are bale to possess bomb illegally, and may use them for their individualistic purposes against any agency, sect or community in the society. â€Å"†¦those who trade in child porn or bombmaking recipes don't do so in the public domain but swap their information on obscure message boards or by way of peer-to-peer file-sharing sites† (Heacock). Firewall is considered to be a strong shield for network security. Firewall essentially functions like a packet filter that studies various IP packets and after thorough examination, lets only this IP packets pass that conform to the particular criteria of destination, support the specific applications and also run particular transport protocols (Messerschmitt 2). There is no best firewall that can provide a network with ultimate security. In fact, absolute access and absolute security are two extremes. A machine can be

Morality and Sacrifice Essay Example for Free

Morality and Sacrifice Essay â€Å"Sacrifice† is the surrender of a greater value for the sake of a lesser one or of a non value. Thus, altruism gauges a man’s virtue by the degree to which he surrenders, renounces or betrays his values (since help to a stranger or an enemy is regarded as more virtuous, less â€Å"selfish,† than help to those one loves). The rational principle of conduct is the exact opposite: always act in accordance with the hierarchy of your values, and never sacrifice a greater value to a lesser one. â€Å"Sacrifice† does not mean the rejection of the worthless, but of the precious. â€Å"Sacrifice† does not mean the rejection of the evil for the sake of the good, but of the good for the sake of the evil. â€Å"Sacrifice† is the surrender of that which you value in favor of that which you don’t. If you exchange a penny for a dollar, it is not a sacrifice; if you exchange a dollar for a penny, it is. If you achieve the career you wanted, after years of struggle, it is not a sacrifice; if you then renounce it for the sake of a rival, it is. A sacrifice is the surrender of a value. Full sacrifice is full surrender of all values. If you wish to achieve full virtue, you must seek no gratitude in return for your sacrifice, no praise, no love, no admiration, no self-esteem, not even the pride of being virtuous; the faintest trace of any gain dilutes your virtue. If you pursue a course of action that does not taint your life by any joy, that brings you no value in matter, no value in spirit, no gain, no profit, no reward—if you achieve this state of total zero, you have achieved the ideal of moral perfection. If you wish to save the last of your dignity, do not call your best actions a â€Å"sacrifice†: that term brands you as immoral. If a mother buys food for her hungry child rather than a hat for herself, it is not a sacrifice: she values the child higher than the hat; but it is a sacrifice to the kind of mother whose higher value is the hat, who would prefer her child to starve and feeds him only from a sense of duty. If a man dies fighting for his own freedom, it is not a sacrifice: he is not willing to live as a slave; but it is a sacrifice to the kind of man who’s willing. If a man refuses to sell his convictions, it is not a sacrifice, unless he is the sort of man who has no convictions. Sacrifice could be proper only for those who have nothing to sacrifice—no values, no standards, no judgment—those whose desires are irrational whims, blindly conceived and lightly surrendered. For a man of moral stature, whose desires are born of rational values, sacrifice is the surrender of the right to the wrong, of the good to the evil. The creed of sacrifice is a morality for the immoral—a morality that declares its own bankruptcy by confessing that it can’t impart to men any personal stake in virtues or values, and that their souls are sewers of depravity, which they must be taught to sacrifice. By its own confession, it is impotent to teach men to be good and can only subject them to constant punishment.

The Benefits of FFA Membership Essay -- Expository Essays Research Pap

The spacious, mute auditorium is suddenly turned into a buzzing social center as the large double doors are swung open by thousands of enthusiastic young members of the National FFA Organization. Although the topics of their conversations may range from discussions on recent use of Global Positioning Satellites in tractors, to arguments over the greatest country singer of all time, these young people all have one thing in common. They are all wearing the blue corduroy jacket of the FFA, proudly displaying the FFA emblem on the back, embroidered with blue and gold thread. These members are standing in the center of Freedom Hall; the main auditorium used to hold the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. They are anxiously awaiting the first session of the first National Convention to be held in Kentucky. Amidst the sea of blue and gold, one member stands silently in awe of the multitude of people. The sleeves of his blue jacket hang stiffly at his side and the copper zipper shines brightly; both signs of a brand new jacket-- a brand new FFA member. His face looks passive as if he really doesn't know how to react, but the sparkle in his eyes betrays his excitement. This is the first FFA activity he has attended as a high school freshman. To the average person, the boy looks quiet and shy. However, a seed of strength is beginning to take root inside this young man. Soul Surfer Main Character

I ask you this; if given the chose, would you choose faith over fear? Love over hate? Triumph over failure? Extraordinary over average? Bethany Hamilton, just thirteen at the time, lost her left arm when a fourteen-foot tiger shark ripped it off while she was surfing with friends in Hawaii.Soul Surfer, the inspirational tale brings us into Hamilton’s life and recovery process after the attack. With nothing but positive messages about going against all odds and overcoming the toughest of obstacles, an enticingly unique storyline, and captivating characters; Soul Surfer is a must watch. This film has many positive lessons to be taken to heart throughout the film. However, the strongest messages are that with a bit of perspective and the support of our friends and family. You can make it through the worst of tragedies. Our family and friends are often our support system. With them, anything becomes possible.Tom Hamilton, Bethany’s father (played by Dennis Quaid) tells Beth any when she is ready to quit surfing after the attack; â€Å"That shark didn’t kill you, you are still here, still alive, with a family who loves you†. Bethany may have lost an arm, but that is not to say she has lost everything. Throughout this uphill battle, Bethany has her friends and family there for her to help her get back on the board with confidence and to turn surfing back into the joyful hobby she initially fell in love with.Similarly, perspective is everything. It is our outlook on life and how we are able to see and eventually come to terms with life’s simplest and toughest decisions. During one of the towns youth nights, Sarah Hill, the youth group’s pastor (played by Carrie Underwood) says â€Å"It can be hard to make sense of things when you are looking at them really close. The same is true in life, so if you are ever dealing with anything that is just too hard to handle, or does not seem to make much sense, get a new perspective.† After the attack Bethany struggles in finding a reason why this has all happened to her. Why she has lost her arm, why she must learn how to do almost everything again, and how this could be gods plan for her.Through the guidance of Sarah’s advice in getting a new perspective, and through her own faith, Bethany was able to come to a positive conclusion. With perspective and support you can make it over the highest bumps in the road. The movie’s enticingly unique story creates an everlasting connection between your own life and to the life of Bethany Hamilton’s. Based on true-life events, this story will inspire you to love yourself, and to be  thankful for all that you have. When director Sean McNama was asked about the challenges of making this movie and he said â€Å"it is about who Bethany really is, and so yeah-there was some give and take on both sides to make it great, but I was like let’s just be true to what she is.†Since Sean was able t o stay so true to whom and what the real Bethany is all about, it makes you really see and have an appreciation for all she has gone through. And furthermore, all the struggles and obstacles she will continue to be faced with throughout the rest of her life. In addition, the special effects of this movie really add on to the overall performance and the reality of the story. AnnaShophia Robb wore a green sleeve on her arm, which was later digitally removed to portray the missing limb. After the shooting of the actual scene took place, the crew would shot a second one without anybody, insuring the background would match with the movie scene. They had to do this for every scene that Bethany was in, therefore for the majority of the movie. This was difficult because they had to do this without wasting precious amounts of time. The main reason being, they were relying on the weather to hold up. All the extra work and attention to detail paid off, because everything looks realistic, and as a viewer you can remain focused on the story and not the obvious Photoshop. When combing a story line based on true-life events and incredible special effects, you are left with a captivating movie.Creating relatable and convincing characters is perhaps the hardest aspect in making films. You may know her from movies such as; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Race to Witch Mountain, or maybe even from Because of Winn-Dixie. AnnaSophia Robb plays the main character of Bethany Hamilton. The character of Bethany is a strong one to say the very least. With her persistence and confidence, she outshines all the other characters, making her relatable. One of the most memorable quotes in this move is said by the character herself, â€Å"I do not need easy, I just need possible.† (4) What makes this role so strong is throughout the entire film, you embark on this journey and you wait on Bethany’s character to breakdown, quit, or to lose faith in everything. But she never does .She shows us her strength, determination and will to find the positive outcomes in all tragic things. Although the character of Bethany Hamilton is extraordinary, Soul Surfer has at least two memorable characters. You may know her from her victory on the fourth season of American Idol, or the story of a small town  Oklahoma girl turns platinum recording artist; Carrie Underwood makes her acting debut, playing the inspirational role of the youth group’s pastor-Sarah Hill. Carrie shows that she has the ability to light up a big screen in her movie debut, but it is the character she plays that makes the movie as moving as it is. Sarah Hill tells Bethany â€Å"I do not know why terrible things happen to us sometimes, but I have to believe something good is going to come out of this.†This inspires Bethany to get back into the water, and to not lose faith in not only herself and her abilities, but also not lose faith in God and the role he plays in her life. Sarah’ s compassion and Christian beliefs make this movie inspiring, relatable, and moving. Sarah’s character demonstrates a strong Christian belief which remains true to the life of the real Bethany Hamilton; by still having a huge significance to the story, Sarah does this without alienating the non-Christian audiences.Over the past ten years, since the tragic accident, Bethany has been blessed with countless opportunities to share her story and her faith with the world, encouraging those who are struggling to overcome difficulties of their own. Through this movie, we celebrate the life of our very own ‘Soul Surfer’. If you enjoy positive messages leaving you with countless Goosebumps, an intriguing story, and phenomenal characters, I highly recommend you to go watch this film.
